ROYSTON Town Youth A were defeated 2-1 at home to Welwyn Garden City. Despite Royston dominating, the first half ended goalless and saw Louis Harward go off injured and in the second Royston were caught on the break twice in quick succession giving Welwyn a 2-0 lead.
Royston re-grouped and soon pulled a goal back when Adam Taylor's pass found Theo Reed who finished superbly, but Royston were unable to break through again to find an equaliser.
Euan Rees was man-of-the-match.
Royston Town Youth B put in an excellent team effort to record 2-0 win against the same opponents.
Jamie Judge opened the scoring in the first half with a magnificent long range free kick before half time Thomas Allen headed home the second.
Solid defending throughout the game from man-of-the-match Findlay Livingstone ensured Royston kept a clean sheet.
