BUNTINGFORD Town saw their Aubrey Cup hopes washed out on Saturday, as their home semi-final against Codicote was called off. The match will now be played on Saturday April 1, and the games are now starting to mount up for Paul Attfield's team. They travel to basement side Evergreen on Saturday before hosting Hadley at Norton Road, Baldock, on Monday evening. The run of home games continues at Norton Road on Wednesday when Met Police Bushey are the visitors in the first leg of the Herts Floodlight Cup semi-final before they return to The Bury on Saturday, March 25, when Chipperfield Corinthians visit for a league encounter. There was better news for Town's youth sides, who both recorded vital victories. The under-18s fought back from 1-0 down at half-time to beat Woodbridge Town 3-1, thanks to two goals from Will Turl and a late Gary Christie effort. A crucial victory for Town's under-16s came against Cambridge City, and after a thrilling game it leaves Town needing two wins from their final three games to win the division. Goals from Robbie Wilmott (2), Carlo Lawrence and Jordan Edwards saw Town deservedly gain a 4-1 lead before a late two goal burst from City created a nervous few moments at the end but the crucial three points were obtained.
