PAST lady captain Tina Collins won the Ladies Bogey at Royston Golf Club last week.
In cold conditions, she produced a score of three under par to edge out another past captain, Joan Buckerfield.
Collins had a terrific start to her round but the easterly wind that prevailed on the back nine meant that she finished just over her handicap.
Sandra Williams finished third ahead of Jenny Jarvis.
Emma Logan was triumphant in the Ladies Alternate Bogey played on Saturday.
Logan actually played better golf against the wind on the back nine to finish ahead of Sue Dean with last week's stableford winner Denise Moody finishing third.
The countback rule was required to separate the top three players in the Saturday Stableford.
Mick Freeman, just back from working in temperatures over 100 degrees, was the hot finisher on the back nine.
His score of 17 points, for a total of 33, was enough to push Trevor Sweting into second place. Nick Sugden also had 33 points to finish third.
Boris Middlemass won Division Two of the February Medal, played on the heath course on Sunday.
Despite the prediction of snow, all competitors made it round and Middlemass now qualifies for the Medal Winners' final in October.
Graham Toby was second and Tony Blatchford third.
In Division One, Nigel Thomas prevailed just one shot ahead of Simon Thompson, Barry Buckerfield, James Sandford and Dan Keogh.
Sandford had the consolation of the best gross.
The club lost just one match against the Cambridge University Stymies on Saturday, but despite their heavy loss the Cambridge team were very complimentary about the course, especially the greens.
Club champion Stuart Phillips led the way with his partner Adrian Shoebridge to a morning four and three victory.
Other members of the Royston team were Micky Hall, Pete Prentice, Richard Howorth, Dan Keogh, Adam Woods, Steve Rogers, Steve de Fraine and Chris Little.
