Royston Town Youth under-10 C team put in one of their best performances of the season against a strong Stevenage Borough Tigers under-10 team, who are five divisions higher than them, in this League Trophy fixture.
Good work by Tom Turner, Will Tucker and Billy Hall led to Royston going in 0-1 up at half-time with a well taken goal from Hall.
Some resilient defending by Shane O'Hare, Callum Leake and Frankie Crotty and fine goalkeeping by Daniel Baulk kept the scoreline down but couldn't stop Stevenage scoring two goals in the second half.
The Tigers 'keeper had a brilliant game and kept Royston out to take the 2-1 win.
