Letchworth Yellows U-11 17
TIGERS were up against tough opposition Letchworth and held their own for the first 10 minutes with some strong goalkeeping from Sam Robinson.
The 12 -minute mark saw Letchworth open the scoring with a well-worked effort from their quick right winger.
Despite strong cover play by Ben Cattley and some good link up play by Brennan Friel and Clyde Thompson down the left the Letchworth defence proved hard to break down.
The significance of the date was taken on board by Tigers defender Cam Douglas as he sent a looping shot from 15 yards to claw a goal back for the home team.
Sam Robinson continued to make important stops in the Melbourne goal to stem the flow of the Letchworth attack.
The midfield was a hard fought area with Mathew Davis distributing to the Tigers flanks supported by Clyde Thompson and Adam Breeze trying wide runs with Tom Lee working the central position up front.
Josh Jones on for Froggatt blended with the defence but Letchworth proved too strong netting further goals to increase their lead.
