Kingsbury London Tigers 4 Royston Town 2

ROYSTON Town came back down to Earth with a thud on Tuesday evening after three Tigers goals in the final 20 minutes condemned the Crows to their third league defeat in a row.

Paul Attfield's young charges would have been on a high going into this tasty encounter following their 2-1 FA Vase victory over Stanway Rovers on Saturday afternoon, but they twice gave up a lead and now sit 10 points off top spot in the South Midlands Premier following Aylesbury's 4-1 demolition of Oxhey Jets at the weekend.

Up front they look as lively and as dangerous as ever and are currently the league's second top scorers with 52 goals so far this season.

It is at the back, or more accurately as a defending unit, where they need to pick up their game if they are going to push for promotion this season with the Crows having only kept two clean sheets in the past 15 games. They have conceded 11 goals in their past three games alone.

That said the Crows have some talented youngsters for this level and are always capable of scoring two or three each game.

With a bit of tweaking their current losing streak should come to an end very soon, and should probably do so this weekend when they make the journey to third from bottom Kentish Town.

The Crows took the lead after just eight minutes at Kingsbury courtesy of top scorer Ricky Young's eighth league goal of the season.

The pacy striker's goal looked like it would separate the two sides at the break but the Crows were pegged back by the wonderfully and exotically named Renars Zarchenko two minutes before the break.

Young then made it nine for the campaign on 55 minutes as the hosts seemed unable to cope with his pace and guile, but once again it was a lead Royston were unable to hold on to.

They were clawed back when Rehia Osagie scored with just 16 minutes left on the clock and four minutes later the Tigers had their lead when Henry Emenike put the ball away.

To compound matters for the visitors Franklyn Morris popped up to make it 4-2 to the Tigers with just two minutes of the game remaining to seal the points for his team and to send Royston back home with work to do to amend their minor dip in form.
