THRIPLOW racer Ed Heinzelmann continued to impress by securing his third and fourth podium finishes in the latest round of the Formula Renault BARC Championships.
In the event, held at Rockingham, Heinzelmann battled eventual winner Frazer Smart in a gripping finish to secure second place, despite registering the fastest lap of the race.
In the second race Heinzelmann was compromised by starting fourth on the grid, following suspension failure, and fought hard to finish third.
Heinzelmann said: "Though we didn't match Frazer's pace, another two podium finishes was a good result.
"It was my first outing at Rockingham and I really enjoyed it.
"I'm now looking forward to taking on the twists and turns of Oulton Park."
With one point between himself and the championship leader, round five on Monday, May 26, at Cheshire's Oulton Park, will be a vital race for Heinzelmann.
