BALDOCK went down to Old Albanians seconds on Saturday in another game they should have won.

Having lost the toss Baldock had the visitors in trouble at 21-2.

However, Albanians skipper Winchester peppered the boundary with alarming ease in a blistering attack that lasted eight overs, scoring 44 and taking the score to 89-2 off just 15 overs.

Thankfully for Baldock, Alistair Jones eventually saw off the Albanians danger man, with a wicket that led to a batting collapse, as he took 3-5 in seven overs, with Old Albanians finishing all out for 144 in 35.2 overs.

It was a game that Baldock should have won, but their failure with the bat eventually led to their downfall.

Baldock lost two early wickets, but Matt Arye (29) and Tom Dupuy took the score to 55.

This was sadly a false dawn for Baldock, and as in previous weeks the wheels came off in alarming fashion.

They then lost five wickets for 10 runs in needless fashion and at 65-7 all seemed lost.

The damage was slowly repaired by a solid stand of 35 between Ranjit Rayat (19) and Alistair Jones (20), and at one point Baldock sensed the game was back in their favour.

But with the wicket of Rayat came a further collapse, and Baldock slumped to 120 all out off 46.2 overs.
