Melbourn played host to Alexander/Beehive in a bottom-of-the-table Cambridgeshire Bowls League clash.

The home side's Rod Sell led the way with a steady game as he won 18-9.

After a run of high scores, Peter Dodds came up against a very strong team and never really got going. After 10 ends and only scoring two shots, he handed over to Mick Kernaghan, who did not have much better luck, only able to add another five shots to lose 29-7.

On rink three, Robert Dodds took over from his dad, getting better as the game progressed to score 13-4 in the last four ends to win by nine shots.

Geoff Bridger also had a change of fortune after a poor run to win 10 of the 18 ends on rink four, and with the help of a four and a five won 19-11 to wrap up Melbourn's 67-63 win.
