U9s beat Knebworth in the final
After a tough group stage, the Baldock Town Under-nine Templars finished top of the Royston Crow Cup table with an impressive three wins, gaining maximum points.
Beating Royston 2-0 in the quarter-final set up an encounter with Hitchin in the semi-final. It was a tense match with Hitchin putting Baldock under pressure, but both defences held firm to take the match to a penalty shoot-out where well-struck shots and a great save by the Templars goalkeeper saw the boys in to the final.
In the final, Knebworth conceded a penalty late in the second half and there was no way back for Baldock’s opponents. The Templars scored and went on to lift the Cup without conceding a goal.
