TANNERY Drift School's young athletes from Year three and four saw off rivals from seven other schools to win the North Hertfordshire School's Athletics Trophy at Wodson Park.

The children took part in a range of track and field events and won a large number of the disciplines into which they were entered.

The pupils were extremely excited by the atmosphere and the facilities, and were fantastically supported by the Sports Partnership's Young Leaders.

The Tannery boys' obstacle course team opened the afternoon with a hard-fought victory, covering everything the gruelling circuit had to throw at them with speed and dedication.

They also triumphed in the 4x100m relay.

The girls' team brought home successes in both track and field, with our standing long jumpers performing admirably.

The afternoon ended with Tannery winning the Best Boy's Team, Best Girl's Team and Best Overall School.

Girl's Team: Ellie Payne, Chloe Mills, Laura Cooney, Lucie Holden, Mia Humphreys, Aimee Holden, Elyse Brogden, Emelia Smith and Lillie Worsey

Boy's Team: Harry Cooper, Zak Hales, Finlay Collins, Kieran Conyers, Jack Davis, Chris Fage, Oliver Warburton, Zac Fraser and Jake Gifford.
