LAST week's NHTTA league programme provided further improvement in Royston's results with three wins and a draw from the five matches played. Derek Clark's return provided a boost for the D team in Division Two, he won all his three singles well supported by a first treble from Abigail Moore and two from Larry Meriez in their 8-2 victory over Cardstock. The C team also gained a 7-3 win at Bedwell E thanks to three singles from Gordon Barnes, two from Haydn Gowan, one from Terry Bailey and a Barnes/Gowan doubles success. In Division Three the E team again won 7-3, this time against Bedwell G. Fred Bendall and Andy Teemal winning all their singles and the doubles. And in the Premier Division, two singles from Paul Robertson plus three conceded by the two-player opposition provided a 5-5 draw for the A team against Le Roi A, but the B team were no match for Bedwell AVC going down 10-0.
