LAST week's North Herts Table Tennis League programme provided little joy for Royston with just one draw and four defeats from the matches played. The 5-5 draw was obtained by the A team in their Premier Division meeting with Settlement Skylarks where Paul Robertson won his three singles supported by a single and the doubles and Kevin Moore. The B team however, suffered another defeat going down 7-3 to Green Man A Dave Bridges, Simon Cockman and Alf Mills winning one single each. In Division Two, the C team were unable to repeat their recent cup victory over leaders Broadway C losing 6-4. Gordon Barnes won two singles, Haydn Gowan one and the pair took the doubles. Their D team colleagues, went down by the same score to Broadway E. Rob Vasello taking two singles, Larry Meriez one and the doubles with Vassello. In Division Three the E team could only record a single from Andy Teemal in their 9-1 defeat at Green Man E. In matches played the previous week the A team recorded an encouraging 6-4 victory over Arts TTC thanks to another treble from Paul Robertson, one apiece from Kevin Moore and Mike Malone and a Moore/Robertson doubles. Both C and D teams gained 5-5 draws. Gordon Barnes and Haydn Gowan winning two singles and Terry Bailey one at Settlement Wrens for the C team whilst Rob Vassello took two singles and the doubles with Larry Meriez, who also won one single plus one from Abigail Moore against Green Man D for the D team. Simon Cockan managed one single win in the B team's 9-1 defeat against Settlement Hawks and Barry Sharp and Andy Teemal won a single apiece for the E team in their 8-2 loss against LABB A.
