GRENEWAY School is celebrating the call-up of four of their pupils for the North Herts swimming team.

As a result of his gold medal swim in the North Herts Schools' Swimming Championships, Lee Maslin has been selected to represent North Herts Schools' in the County Secondary Schools' Gala at Stevenage Pool on Friday, March 23.

A school spokesman said: "This is a superb achievement for Lee, and made even more remarkable as this was his first competitive swim at this level.

"Congratulations are also due to Callum Orvis and Josh Allen, who have both been selected for the North Herts Schools' Year 5 team to swim in the inter-district team championships on February 23.

"Also selected for the Year 6 team in the same prestigious event is Joe Walsh. Good luck to all our swimmers."

- Greneway's talented gymnast Sebastian Jaunzens he has also been selected for the regional development squad for high diving.

- Buntingford Swimming Club hope that their first venture into division three of the Hertfordshire Major League will end with a top-three finish.

The squad is well placed for the final round of the winter campaign after finishing second in both the first and second rounds.

Head coach Alan Bowell says his youngsters' displays have more than justified the club's decision to enter the league for the first time.

"I think we have a good chance of finishing third overall - just outside the two promotion spotas," said head coach Alan Bowell. "They've done really well."

Royston are aiming for a top six finish after securing third place in round one and fourth in round two.
