Camden United Reserves 1 Steeple Morden 16

STEEPLE Morden continued their rich vein of goalscoring form and notched up their fifth consecutive victory as they hammered 16 goals past strugglers Camden United.

The huge scoreline means Morden have now hit the back of the net 42 times in their winning run while conceding just two goals, but they had to do it coming from behind after Camden took the lead in the opening minutes.

First to score for Steeple was Dom Holt who prodded home past the advancing keeper on 11 minutes and then a teasing run from Stuart Cooke was ended by a trip in the box five minutes later and Cooke got up, dusted himself down and calmly converted the resultant spot kick to make it 2-1.

Martyn Lees got his 20th of the season on 20 minutes before Ben Holt slotted home from close range after a precise cross from Cooke.

Karl Parr and Lees added to the score before the break, while after it Steeple went out with only three defenders and launched waves of clinical attacks.

Lees, Matt Chapman (two), Ben Holt (two), Parr (two), Charlie Prothero, Jack Tidey and Dom Holt added to the scoreline in the second half.

The goals, from eight different scorers, also meant Steeple had broken the 100 league goal barrier in just 23 games this season - a feat not managed in modern times.

Steeple: Smith, Wheelton (Collins), Donald, Tidey, Cooke, Prothero, D Holt, Chapman, Lees, Parr, B Holt.
