The club needed to field 16 boys to compete and although had 13 commitments only five (Simon Fell, Tom Harrington, Matthew Houghton, Tom Gamble, Sam Huttlestone) turned up on the night.

As the team couldn't cover every event they lost 36 points before they started but came sixth and gave their all.

There were also first time swims at the gala for nine-year-olds Alice Nottage, Isobel Holcroft and Chloe Penwill and under-11s Eleanor Beed, Megan Evers and Megan Howorth, plus under-12s Elspeth Davies and Tom Gamble.
