Royston Youth's first match of the season saw them beat Waterbeach 11-0 at the heath.
Waterbeach were an unknown quantity having not been in the same league as Royston last year, but after a tight five minutes Royston scored twice in quick succession via two excellent solo efforts by Charlotte Pinner.
This seemed to demoralise the opposition and Eleanor Bishop, the top league scorer last season, took full advantage by scoring two further goals and this was followed by a stunning goal by Lana Foster who curled a shot into the top right hand corner.
Bishop scored three more goals, one of particular note being a long range effort, before the break to make it 8-0, and although the game was much more even after the break, Royston were still able to add three more all scored by the outstanding Bishop.
A perfect start to the season for the defending champions.
