REED Colts have just finished one of their most successful seasons as all three of their teams topped their respective Cambridgeshire CYCA leagues.

The under-11 pairs team lost only once all season to end on the same number of points as two of Cambridge’s top clubs.

Meanwhile, the under-13s remained undefeated to win their league. Captain, Josh Poulton, scored two unbeaten centuries on the way to winning the title.

And the under-15 side lost just once as they captured their respective crown. Once again it was captain, William Heslam, who led from the front with a century in the final match of the season.

In addition, both of the older teams finished second in their North Herts leagues behind strong Letchworth sides.

Reed CC now field four adult elevens every Saturday and over three quarters of their players are ex-colts.

Colts liason officer, Peter Wholley, is delighted at the success that’s been achieved this season and said: “There is no doubt that the reason this club is thriving is a direct result of an excellent colts section over many years.

“This year’s success is down to some talented youngsters who are supported by committed managers: John Kershaw, Lindsey Poulton, Neil Curtis and John Heslam as well as some great coaching from Ed Blissett, Rob Bloor, Mark King and Peter Baker, assisted by several of the club’s younger players.”
