Hempstead 0 Great Chishill 5 CHISHILL picked up a vital three points against fellow strugglers Hempstead on Saturday, as the front two of Jonathan Drury and Chris White took responsibility in front of goal. It was 1-0 after just five minutes when Drury found space on the edge of the box to find the bottom corner with a right-foot shot. They then suffered a setback when Dan Manning went off injured. However, substitute Paul Gibson came on, produced an excellent display, and from a long clearance, slotted past the keeper. Drury made it three just before half-time, following up after White's effort came back off the post. Just after the break, the hosts almost got back into the game, but when Gallagher parried a close-range shot, the visitors broke quickly on the counter attack, and White finished coolly to make it four. Heavy snow blew into Chishill's faces in the second half, making playing conditions difficult. Hempstead enjoyed a brief spell on top, but Chishill's back four remained solid throughout, and Gallagher was rarely tested in Chishill's goal. When Jonathan Drury was brought down going round the goalkeeper, Chris White stepped up to complete his hat-trick from the spot. Chishill: Gallagher, R Drury, Rogers, Gardiner, Bramwell, Manning, Edey, E Drury, Hodge, White, J Drury. Subs: Gibson, Wilson, Radford. Fowlmere 4 Gt Shelford Res 0 GEORGE Kew was the hat-trick hero, adding to last week's two goals, as Fowlmere's impressive form continued against high-flying Shelford. The game started with both sides eager to make their mark, and it was obvious that this was going to be a physical encounter. Both defences were cancelling out each other. But Fowlmere thought they had won a penalty when Dec Shilton was hauled down in box by two Shelford players, but the referee did not have a clear view. After the break, Fowlmere came flying out of the blocks and within five minutes took a deserved lead when Shilton picked the ball up in the centre circle, fed a pass to Adam Fields, who then spotted Shilton's run with a pin- point pass, and Shilton slid the ball under the keeper. Fowlmere then had to watch out for a series of rash tackles. But an inspired substitution saw them grab a second goal when Rory Clarke, who had just come on, charged down the left wing, and his excellent cross found Kew at the back post to head home. It was soon 3-0 when Fowlmere were awarded a free-kick out wide, and Fields sent over another great ball, with Kew was on hand to head home again. Shaun Douglas then had another chance but blasted over. At the other end, stand-in keeper Matt Foggo and 48-year-old Nick King kept out what Shelford had to offer, and it was not long before Fowlmere grabbed a fourth, when Kew was put through on goal, and he chipped the on-rushing keeper. Fowlmere: Foggo, O'Farrell, King, Sooter, Geal, Kew, T Woods, Faubel (Clarke), B Wood, Shilton (Douglas), Fields.
