THE July Medal at Bassingbourn Golf Club was played in torrential rain with only two players managing to finish their rounds with Dave Sparks coming in as runner-up to the winner and club captain Richie Grooves.
The June Hackers event took place last Wednesday with Division Two won by Gerald Sizer on 37 points followed by Suzanne Davies (second) and Peter Blayney in third.
Division One was won by Cyril Harris and John Worrall finished second.
The longest drive of the day was hit by Peter Saunders and the winner of the nearest the pin competition was Dennis Taylor.
The Men's Club Championship (36 holes) and Men's Senior Club Championship (18 holes) took place on Saturday at Bassingbourn.
The senior event was won by John Worrall who beat Tony Davies after having to play the 18th hole again after count back could not separate both players after they had carded 75 (nett 57), while Richard Jones finished third.
The Men's Championship was won deservedly by John Moody with 145 for both rounds who beat Chris Halliday into second with Dave Sparks coming in third.
