WITH a severely depleted team a few sturdy Royston Crows raced in the Chiltern cross country league at Luton last Saturday.
Surprise of the day was Sophie Jones, who stormed round the blustery course, winning the under-11 girls race.
Team spirit won the day for the under 15 boys who came in closely together with Bruce Harrison leading them in 16th place in his first race in this age group. Followed by Conor Paterson in 17th and Peter Allen (20th).
Toby Hone also ran well in the U17's race to rank seventh.
