BASSINGBOURN Snowsport Centre staged the fourth round of the 2006 ERSA Summer League races on Sunday with 19 of their own racers ready to take on competitors from the other five regional clubs.
A total of 118 racers turned up for the event. Out of 19 Bassingbourn racers, nine came away with medals for the individual slalom in their age group.
Peter Thompson from Cambridge gold; Tim Evans from Cambridge silver; Daniel Ritsema from Orwell silver; Craig Wallduck from Guilden Morden silver; Mike Smith from Bar Hill silver; Jordan Lewis from Royston silver; Daniel Norton from Stevington silver; Andrew McGarvie from Chatteris bronze; Ben Upton from Royston bronze
The racers then went on to the team dual slalom event and came away with golds for the senior team of Peter Thompson, Tim Evans, Andrew McGarvie and Daniel Norton, and the juniors Benjamin and Daniel Ritsema, Craig Wallduck, and Adam Wilmets.
The regular training sessions on a Tuesday evening are definitely paying off with the Bassingbourn racers regularly coming home with medals.
