IT was not quite the OK Corrall but two shoot outs took place at Heydon Grange Golf and Country Club last weekend in the form of the Men's Vice-Captain's Shoot-out and the Lady Captains Shoot-out.

To anyone watching it would be quite incomprehensible to see up to 10 golfers teeing off one after another on the first tee but the shoot-out progresses with the golfer with the highest score dropping out on each hole.

For the vice-captain's shoot out, two groups of nine teed off with the two left from each group coming together on the last tee. With one of those conceding, it was left to Bob Bridges, pictured right, to take the trophy.

The ladies' final hole shoot-off was contested between Helen Leigh and Gloria Carse, with the latter, pictured below (right) receiving her prize from lady captain Jane Patterson, coming out on top after two sudden death play-offs.
