GRENEWAY were in seventh heaven on Tuesday as they won the North Herts Schools U11 title and booked their place in the Wix Trophy quarter-final for the seventh consecutive year.

They overcame stiff challenges from Roysia, St Marys and a ‘Royston Select’. They defeated the Select team 5-0 in the first match before goals from Kean Harness (two), Lucas Edey and Louis Blair sealed their second win of the tournament.

Greneway faced St Marys in the final match and a 3-1 victory sealed their victory.

“Winning Seven titles is very impressive and this achievement allows us to play in the Wix competition which is always is a big challenge for all the players and I feel sure that this squad will rise to the challenge. The standard is higher and this will help to raise the performance levels of all concerned,” said assistant head teacher Terry Graves.
