Set fayre for piece of action

DISPLAYS from the Corvus Cornix ­Basketball team and Royston Rugby Club will be among the activities at the ­Royston Sports Fayre on Sunday.

The fayre, at Royston Leisure Centre, will ­feature demonstrations and activities by schools and sporting ­organisations.

Royston Netball Club, Royston Hockey Club, and the Shotokan Karate club, will also be represented.

Visitors will be ­encouraged to try out the sports for themselves, with a view to getting involved in the local sports scene.

Ken Charles, chairman of the Royston and ­District Sports Council, which organised the event, said: "We hope this event will raise awareness of the many sporting opportunities on offer to adults and young people in and around Royston."

Royston Sports Fayre will run from 10am- 5pm.
