ROYSTON'S Stuart Phillips secured his second county title of the season by winning the foursomes tournament at Girton Golf Club.
Phillips, partnered by Ben Kerr of Newmarket, beat tournament holders Lee Yearn and Stephen Jarvis by a solitary shot over the 36 holes, to claim his second major trophy of the year after he won the county fourball title.
Jane Millership was the toast of the Royston ladies as she took the spoils in the Spring Meeting with a nett par round of 71.
Countback was required to separate the next three players, with Carolyn Devaney taking second place, and Jenny Middlemass and Libby Toby finishing third and fourth respectively.
Evelyn Fenton played some steady golf to win the Bronze division ahead of Paula Offer and captain Joan Buckerfield.
The junior section held their monthly medal on Saturday, when Oli Pemberton scored a nett 60 to claim the title.
Henry James scored an excellent gross 88, nett 61, to pip John Middlemass for second spot.
The midweek stableford was won by Roy Wilson with 39 points, with Fred Wilding taking the runners-up spot on countback from Colin Roberts.
Steve De Fraine edged out Stuart Phillips with a nett 66, to claim the top prize in Division One on Sunday.
And in Division Two, Mial Walker finished two shots ahead of Alan Evans, to qualify for the medal winners final in October.
Alan Warner finished third, ahead of Terry Bonnett, Pete Dean, and Gary Noble.
All four players finished with nett 69s.
