SANDON Primary School has reached the final of the National Pop Lacrosse Championships. The school team will travel to Hertfordshire Sports Village in Hatfield on Sunday where they will face schools from all over the UK, after winning their way through the regional finals. Sandon is the smallest school to qualify for the national final with PE co-ordinator Ruth Reynolds describing the feat as a "fantastic achievement." She said: "They have done so well to get this far and I'm really proud of them. They have got there on merit and I think they have a very good chance. The school has never been in a national final before so it's a really proud moment. It's going to be difficult because a lot of the other schools will have older and bigger players. Our team is small, but very fast. So hopefully we can use that to our advantage." The Sandon team is made up of Josh Volpe, Olivia Gascoine, Hannah Stout, Rachel Croker, Alex Close, Matthew Reynolds, Jake Long, and Helen Inman, who are all aged from nine-11.
