WITH the air cleared from the previous days rain and a gentle breeze, it was ideal conditions for race two of the Advance Performance Mid Week League in Bishop's Stortford.

The loop course went downhill with an uphill finish. This did not deter Ian Murray and Nikki Tyrrell, as they led the Royston Runners teams home, both in third place in their respective races.

They were closely followed by Chris Maxwell (fifth) and Jo Riley (eighth).

Another great turnout showed Royston's strength in depth, with the men winning the race and the women improving from last time to finish second.

After two races, Royston top the overall table with Bishop's Stortford still hanging on only a point behind.
