Royston were in pole position but still needed a win to secure the league victory. The team in second place were 4 points behind were also looking for a win.

Royston started of with well with the goals going into the circle well, feeding by Rooney and Hume was effective with some sharp and precise balls into the waiting shooters Stimson and Winser were getting the ball with ease.

However as expected in the second quarter Botolph started to pick up and put pressure on Royston attack, Royston had to work harder, the wing defence White helped to bring the ball up the court, Stimson and Winser now battling to get the ball in.

By the time the third quarter came there was only about 3 goals in it, but as ever in the third quarter Royston started to pull away, some excellent defending from Pinner, Durrant and White saw Botolph lose the attacking ball, which was then fed straight back up the court. Rooney as ever kept the flow going making crucial interceptions throughout.

Although Stimson suffered a couple of knocks in this game, she kept going tirelessly and managed to keep popping in the goals - a worthy player of the match. Royston had done it a victory and league winners.
