Royston II v Hardwick and Shepreth II
DESPITE a flying start by Royston captain Tony Clough, the home side were unable to beat a tough Hardwick and Shepreth.
Opening batsman Clough hit 34 and caused no end of problems for the opposition.
A good partnership between Mick Miller (31) and Julian Fynn (40) then took the score to 100 and John Bason (17no) and Crag Jackson (15) ended Royston on 153-7.
It proved, however, not to be enough as Hardwick and Shepreth made a number of important runs in the final over. With J Ward (47), B O'Reilly (24) and M Clived (22) working hard with the bat.
Dave Isherwood finished with impressive figures of 22 for 2 making the most of the slow pitch conditions as did Angus Batey who took 21 for 3.
