ROYSTON were guaranteed one place in the fourth round of the County Triples, with two of their teams meeting in an entertaining third round clash.

Unfortunately for Len Payne, Mick O'Flanagan, and Peter Adams, clubmates Terry Hollands, Bob Porter, and Laurie Ramsay proved too strong and ran out 17-8 winners.

In the third round of the County Pairs, Adams saw better luck, and alongside Matt Coppen saw off Baldock's Todd and Turner with a convincing 27-16 victory.

A number of Royston bowlers were also in action in the County Singles Day, with Ramsay seeing the first success with a 21-15 win against Crosby of Baldock.

Coppen then eased home to an untroubled 21-9 win against another Baldock bowler, Terry Saunders, while Simon Lee sent fellow Royston man Hollands packing with a hard-fought 22-14 win.

Colin Wilson edged to a narrow 21-18 victory in the County Unbadged competition, beating Letchworth Conservatives' Malcolm Treadway.
