A superb all-round performance earned Royston Town a well-deserved 2-0 win in their FA Trophy first qualifying round clash at Ryman Premier League side Wingate & Finchley on Saturday.

Rhys Hoenes bagged a brace with both goals converted following missed spot kicks. Kaan Fehmi’s first kick was saved before the striker bundled in and the same occurred for the second, this time Hoenes hit the upright with his penalty but managed to put the rebound away.

The Crows have been drawn away at Ryman League Division North side Tilbury inFA Trophy second round qualifying after the draw took place today (Monday). The tie will be played on the weekend of Saturday, November 14.

Tilbury beat Tooting and Mitcham United 2-1 on Saturday to reach the next round of the Trophy.
