Royston Town boss Steve Castle believes there is still “all to play for” as the race for Southern League Division One Central promotion hots up.
The Crows escaped with a last-gasp 2-2 draw from Tuesday night’s league clash with Godalming Town at Garden Walk, courtesy of injury-time strikes from Ryan Ingrey and Jack Bradshaw (see inside for the match report).
The Surrey visitors forged a two-goal half-time lead through Antonio Simeone and George Frith, but with Godalming just moments from inflicting Royston’s 13th league defeat of the season, Castle’s men struck back and the boss thinks it could be a defining moment in the club’s campaign.
Castle said: “Until it is mathmetically impossible for us to get into the play-offs, we will keep fighting.
“If we hadn’t got anything then that is 13 losses for the season and it might have been just a little bit too much.
“However, we have got ourselves a point and it does feel like a win. We will have to go head-to-head with Rugby Town, Barton Rovers and Hanwell Town and to be honest, we need maximum points off them.
“There’s a few teams there that have to play games and win them and they might slip up as well, so it is all to play for at this stage.”

Royston have been further boosted in the final stages of the season by two work experience signings from League One side Leyton Orient.
Striker Victor Adeboyejo and midfielder Montel Agyemang featured in last Saturday’s excellent 2-0 league win at Aylesbury United, with the former marking his debut with a goal after just eight minutes.
The Garden Walk side are the joint eighth highest scorers in the division and Castle hopes to improve their scoring tally with the addition of the attack-minded duo.
Castle continued: “It’s good for us because they are both strong lads and I think they can be two decent additions to the squad.
“Having played for Orient for over 11 years, the youth team manager down there is a good pal of mine so it seemed a good move for both parties.
“We have been struggling with goals and obviously in the last couple of games we have been lacking the likes of Scott Bridges, Spyros Mentis and Rob Nightingale in the middle of the park, so we’re hopefully Victor and Montel can give us more of an edge going forward and grab goals.”
