It would not be an understatement to say Vanarama National League South side Bishop’s Stortford are a bogey team for Royston Town when it comes to the Herts Charity Cup.
So it proved again on Tuesday night at Garden Walk as, for the fourth successive season, the Crows were eliminated from the competition by Stortford.
This time it was via a 4-2 penalty shootout victory after the pair battled to a 2-2 draw.
Ryan Auger’s spectacularly put the holders ahead after just four seconds before Gary Cohen equalised.
Ashley Taylor-Forbes restored the Blues’ lead before Ryan Ingrey’s stunner made it 2-2.
