Read Toby Miles’ player ratings from the vital clash between play-off contenders Royston Town and Biggleswade Town at Garden Walk.

Royston Town:

Joe Welch: 6 – Couldn’t do much about the two first-half goals, and he made some brilliant saves to keep the scores down. He began to read Matt Ball’s expert corners and commanded his box expertly to catch most of them. Will be disappointed he couldn’t stop the Waders’ fifth.

Lewis Endacott: 6 - Decent first-half but struggled with the Biggleswade attack in the second half.

Harold Joseph: 6 – Couldn’t deal with the Waders’ set-pieces. Dug in and made some important last-ditch clearances, but often looked stretched.

Scott Thomas: 6 – Decent first-half but struggled to cover the second half Biggleswade attacks.

Daniel Brathwaite: 6 – Good in the air but struggled with the pace of Bradley Bell. Bundles the ball over the line for Royston’s final goal.

Josh Castiglione: 8 – Pacey and accurate, the winger was quiet for much of the game but when he did get the ball he was devastating. Brilliant strike for the third goal.

James Potton: 9 – Very composed and dictated the Royston attack. Perfect passing, great positional sense to lose his marker and head in the opener, and an expert strike to fire into the top corner for the Crows’ second.

Sam Corcoran: 7 – Battled hard and a great cross for Royston’s opener, but a quiet second half.

Vance Bola: 6 – Didn’t see much of the ball in the first-half with Royston rarely countering. Brilliantly made a chance for himself at the end of the half but blazed over.

David Mooney: 7 – Fairly quiet in the first-half, wasn’t allowed a shooting chance but helped in the build-up.

Tom Newman: 6 – Never broke though and was stifled by Lucas Perry.

Substitutes:

Rohdell Gordon: 6 – On early in the second half. Lively but couldn’t find an end product.

Dan Gallin: 5 - On early in the second half. Struggled to make an impact.

Tyler Corlett: 5 – On early in the second half. Couldn’t contain the visitors as they poured forward.

Biggleswade Town:

Sam Donkin: 7 – Wasn’t at fault for any of the first-half goals but had a quiet first-half with Royston pegged back for large periods. His goal-kicks repeatedly were carried out of the play by the wind.

Jack Bradshaw: 6 – Didn’t have a great first-half, being turned easily in the build up to Royston’s opener and conceding the free-kick which led to their second. Did make some important tackles.

Lucas Perry: 8 – Excellent on the overlap and stifling in defence. Royston never got through on his side.

Kieron Forbes: 8 – The brilliantly consistent defensive midfielder dictated the tempo all game, with precise passing and disciplined marking.

Jordan Gent: 8 – Solid at the back, read the game well. Great finish for the Waders fourth.

David Longe-King: 8 – Swept up well with his strength and speed. Towering header for the Waders’ second.

Bradley Bell: 8 - The right-winger was a little loose in the early stages on the counter attack, but he was in the right place at the right time to head in the opener, and his pace caused his former club problems regularly.

Lucas Kirkpatrick: 6 – Had a quiet game but did the basics well.

Joe White: 8 – Battling and always a handful for defenders. Scored a penalty and a powerful strike.

Matt Ball: 9 – An ideal game for Ball to show his quality, with countless corners and free-kicks for him to swing in with expert accuracy. Two assists and a classy penalty for the playmaker.

Soloman Nwabuokei: 9 - The midfielder’s routinely started the Waders attacks, with bursting runs, headed flick-ons and classy passing.

Substitutes:

Jonny McNamara: - On late in the game. Too late to make a much impact.

Liam Brooks: - On too late to make an impact.
