ROYSTON TOWN have signed former Tring Athletic striker Ryan Redford on a one-year contract ahead of the new season.
Redford scored 30 goals last term, finishing third top goalscorer in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division.
He has had spells at Hertford Town and Biggleswade United where he also finished as top scorer.
Crows boss Paul Attfield says he is pleased to have signed the prolific frontman. “He’s always been a proven goalscorer,” he said.
“He’s a natural finisher who leads the line very well and he certainly knows how to put the ball in the net on a regular basis, season after season.
“He’s a good age – mid twenties – and he will be good for us.”
Attfield also says he has got one more player in his sights before the new season gets underway in August – a central defender/midfielder who he does not want to name as the move has not been 100 per cent confirmed.
Attfield added: “I’ve potentially got one more player coming in which I’m 90 per cent sure of, but it’s not certain until we know if he is moving back into the area.
“If I can get this other player then I think we’ll have a squad capable of getting out of this league.”
Meanwhile, the club have confirmed that six existing players have also signed one-year deals at Garden Walk. They are John McGrandles, Matt and Martin Standen, Rhys Lawrence, Ricky Young and Jack Bradshaw.
