Royston Town boss Paul Attfield admitted he was "frustrated and disappointed" to see his side squander a two-goal lead at Tring Athletic on Saturday.

Goals from Josh Bronti and Ricky Young put the Crows in a commanding position but the hosts roared back in the second half to run out convincing winners.

"I am immensely frustrated and disappointed as once again we have failed to compete properly against a good team high up the table," said Attfield, whose side sit seventh in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division.

"We were so good from an attacking point of view in the first half and whilst we got two goals we could have had a few more to put the game out of sight.

"It is so annoying to say we capitulated after the break and just couldn't collectively handle the pressure.

"We gave them added enthusiasm by conceding such a poor goal early on in the second half and then we become very naive but, more concerning, uncompetitive and defensively we were all over the place at times.

"To be 2-0 up at this level and lose 4-2, which was probably the minimum we deserved to concede in the end, has to be seriously looked.

"At our next game at Chalfont St Peter, arguably a harder game, it will give me a perfect picture what I will need to do.
