New striker will score goals says Crows boss

CROWS boss Paul Attfield says Tuesday night’s match-winner Bobby Dance has the quality to score plenty of goals this season.

Attfield has said on a number of occasions that his strikers need to be more ruthless in front of goal and has been keen to bring in a striker who offers something different to what he has already got.

Dance has plenty of experience playing at a higher level and the physical front-man has got off to a good start to life at Garden Walk.

“He will definitely score goals for us,” said Attfield.

“He is a bit more physical and he puts himself about and has a decent first touch. He has experience of playing two leagues above ourselves and I think he will be good for us.”

Attfield is pleased with his side’s last two results but he is certainly not going overboard. Games are coming thick and fast and, with injuries and suspensions already taking their toll, Attfield knows it’s important to utilise the whole squad if they are to build some momentum in the league. Tomorrow night’s game against Bedford will be Royston’s third this week before travelling to Holmer Green on Saturday.

He added: “There’s still work to do and when you bring in new players it’s always difficult.

“We’ve got a few injuries and suspensions but it’s important that we keep up the momentum and we don’t want to take our foot off the pedal.

“It’s difficult when you’ve got three games in five days and I’ve had to split the squad down the middle to make sure everyone plays their part in these games.”
