The RFU are hosting a ‘pitch up and play’ event at Royston Rugby Club at the end of this month in order to get more people interested in rugby.

The initiative, taking place on Sunday, January 31 between 12.15-2.45pm, is designed for everybody to have a go, but also to introduce more women to contact rugby. It is suitable for all abilities, is bags of fun and totally free of charge.

The sessions will build confidence and contact, fitness and femininity while providing a playing field for women and girls to discover what makes them strong.

Players will also be able to select a motivation band on arrival which helps them to shape the session depending on whether they are just looking for fun, fancy some competition or want to focus on fitness.
