ROYSTON Rugby Club have been busy during the close season in order to improve their on last season’s mid-table league finish and push for promotion.

The club have appointed Damien Fouracres as first team captain while Steve Hall has been installed as new head coach.

They have also been busy recruiting new players with Kevin Parslow, who has joined near neighbors Shelford, and he will also be the club’s backs coach.

They have also picked up a few new players who have recently moved to the area.

Jack Sirett and Michael Schurch, who last played regularly during Royston’s title winning campaign in 2007, have both from university.

The club also will be running a second team and Vets team which will be marshaled by Steve Patmore and Colin Letch respectively.

The club will train every Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm on Royston Heath and are always happy to welcome anyone who wants to play no regardless of their standard.

The club will be running numerous social events and wives, girlfriends and children are always made to feel welcome in the Heath Sports Club bar after games.

The club’s mini and junior sections are also thriving and will be starting back soon on a Sunday morning in the near future.
