AN EMPHATIC 8-0 victory marked the start of Royston Tennis Club men's team Cambridgeshire Summer League season.

They were comfortable victors against Girton first team, thanks largely to the performances of Andy Holmes, Matt Fellingham, Mike Moss, and Richard Fosbeary.

The ladies first match, at Buckden, ended in a draw. Their team comprised Pru Burton, Christine Knight, Ann Smith, and Kathryn Betts.

There was also a stalemate for the men's second team, who were held to a draw by Royston thirds.
