ROYSTON head coach Kevin Green believes his side can cause an upset on Sunday when The Crows visit Herts & Middlesex League One side Hitchin in the first round of the Herts Cup.

Green's side have been relishing the challenge of taking on a side in the division above and hope that comfortable wins against Ely and St Neots, who were also higher opposition, bode well for Sunday's clash.

Green said: "We're on a bit of a roll at the moment and we have shown that we can more than match teams from the higher divisions. We had a good win on Saturday, and hopefully we can carry our form into the game against Hitchin.

"We're all looking forward to the match, and I'm told there is a bit of history between the clubs.

"They are one of our bigger rivals so obviously both teams are going to be up for the win.

"There is a lot of confidence around the club at the moment, and with a full-strength squad available I think we can cause an upset. I have a really good feeling about the game."

However, while The Crows go into the game with high hopes, their opponents will also be confident, after beating League One rivals Old Millhillians 60-8 on Saturday, with both left-winger James Larman and Kiwi centre Jimmy Scott grabbing hat-tricks.

Green said: "It's going to be tough, but we will take the game to them. We're aiming to play expansive rugby and keep the ball moving. We're looking very good at the moment so it's a good time to be playing them.

"Royston got to the semi-final of the competition last year, so it would be nice to put another cup run together.

"There's no reason why we cannot go all the way and go one better."

n The match kicks off at 1.15pm at King George V playing fields, Old Hale Way, Hitchin.
