IT was a case of a missed opportunity for Royston Reserves who lost a two-goal advantage in the last six minutes.

Once again Royston were forced to re-shuffle their starting 11, and as a result struggled to get into an early rhythm.

However, the calming influence of Mike Baker and the composed style of Tom Galvin gave the hosts a much-needed foundation from which they began to launch a wave of attacks.

Several chances went begging for Royston, before Ashley Townsend's volley was steered past the Langford keeper by Brett Purkiss.

In the second half, Royston were given a cruel blow when the luckless Baker was again forced off through injury. His departure caused a loss of composure, however, Michael Bloss lifted their spirits when he doubled his side's lead with a brilliant header.

The three points looked to be heading the hosts' way, before more disaster struck with Galvin leaving the field with a hamstring injury, with the visitors scoring immediately what looked nothing more than a consolation.

But then with seconds on the clock a needlessly-conceded corner was crossed into the Royston box, with a Langford midfielder on hand to sweep the ball home.

Royston manager Kevin Wilson said: "We were looking at a few players and they all did very well indeed. Obviously we are not happy to loose two points in that manner, but over the course of the game a draw was probably a fair result.
