Royston Ladies Rugby Club beat Bishops Stortford Ladies 29-0 at the weekend.
Sunday’s match played on the heath was a landslide as they gained revenge for losing away at Stortford in October in a 26-24 bitter defeat at Hadham Road.
Royston ladies redoubled their efforts in training these past few weeks seeing excellent turnout with a team goal to get out and win this Herts derby and they did not disappoint. A brace of tries from Hannah Mather and Robyn Allen in the first ten minutes set the tone for the rest of the half. Further tries from Cally Hanna, Lauren Brain and Bex Nolan came quickly in the first half with Jaz Devereux finishing off with two completed conversions to win the match.
The ladies train on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 7pm under the lights at the heath. Girls u13-16 training is 6.30pm on Wednesdays. An ‘inner warrior’ camp is to be held on Thursday for new or returning players.
