As Royston Cricket Club prepare to kick off their 2016 Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Premier League Junior One South season on Saturday, first-team captain Paul Harris believes his side are ready to mount a promotion challenge.

The Crows head to newly promoted Great Chishill, in what promises to be a tough opener.

Harris said: “I still see us as a senior league side and so we’ll be pushing to gain promotion from Junior One, as per last season.”

Royston’s first home game of the season comes a week on Saturday (May 14) against Audley End & Littlebury at Therfield Recreation Ground.

This year Royston will be running three youth sides: U10s, U11s, and an U19 T20 side.

Youth training takes place on Sunday mornings from 10am-12pm and adults’ training on Tuesday nights from 6pm.
