The Royston ladies started their defence of their North Herts Challenge Shield Title with a win against Riverain in tricky conditions.

In the Inter-Club Team Championship at home to Baldock, Royston won, with Skip Laurie Ramsay having an especially good match with a 34-14 shot win.

Ramsay also skipped a winning team in the Tony Allcock, Over 60’s Double Rink Trophy, 20-18, but the second team lost 12-28. The County Pairs matches continued with two Royston teams going head to head, Stuart Cook and Steve Kilford beating Laurie Ramsay and George Lewis 25-13. Glynn Williams and Stewart Brown were also successful beating Whitethorn 21-16.

In the L and D Triples Peter Fisk, Hans Rijk and Don Sheriff beat The Three Horseshoes 20-13. In the Ladies Triples against Holwell, Heather Stapleton, Evelyn Huffer and Eileen Hyde won 22-12 while Maureen Gisby, Gillian Fisk and Yvonne Whitehouse won 13-12. The Vets played away against Letchworth Garden City winning 76-57 and at home to Steeple Morden winning 70-61. In a friendly game against Willian, Royston won 76-48, Ron Colton, Gillian Fisk and Skip Eileen Hyde winning on their rink 35-7.
