Royston 3 Hertford 1
ROYSTON hosted Saturday's fixture against fellow title contenders Hertford and readied themselves for one of their toughest matches of the year.
Having not dropped a point at home all season Royston began the match strongly and their reward came with a fine goal by Sam Polge as the Crows went in holding the lead.
At the restart Royston went on the attack once more and a period of pressure saw Owen Russell net their second. With defeat looming Hertford forced their way into the match but Royston's defence held firm.
They soon scored again when Nick Ross slotted the ball into the net after a strong solo run.
The visitors pulled one back, but Royston regained control of the match and rode out the final minutes for a fantastic victory.
