A FANTASTIC performance by skipper Matthew Bailey inspired Royston Town Youth B to a good win against a previously unbeaten FC Comet Stingrays team in the third round of the League Trophy.
Royston took a quick two-nil lead with both goals from Bailey only to be pegged back to 2-2 at half-time.
Tight defending from Brad Whale and Lewis Mansfield together with some good goalkeeping by Rory Hunter helped keep the Stingray forwards from scoring more in the first 45 minutes.
The second half started cagily and the scores moved to 4-4 with a home team own goal following pressure from Lewis Anderson and a good run and strike from Jack Davis.
