Royston 42 Botolph 28

ROYSTON started out yesterday wanting to get another victory under their belt and although they led at the end of the first quarter it was only by two points.

The second quarter saw Royston pull away with Tracy Stimson particularly impressive.

Stimson was seemingly everywhere as she defended the ball well from centre court and was on target with her shooting into the net.

The defence of Emma Winser and Anna Pinner kept the ball out and with the help of Durrant they controlled much of the play.

At half time Royston swapped things around with Karen Hume coming on at centre court with Regan Rooney moving back.

Immediately this made an impact with Rooney and Hume bringing the ball down and with Stimson once again waiting to put it in the net.

The co-shooter Target kept a steady nerve for the rebounds and popped them in with ease.

The fourth quarter came and Royston began to pull away. Rooney worked tirelessly at centre making sure all the play linked up while White made some important interceptions around the circle edge to keep Botolph from scoring.

Royston secured the win and the team now top the Cambridge County League.

Player of the Match: Regan Rooney.
