THE Royston Rockets completed their East Anglia BMX Championship calendar on Sunday with an impressive display at the Ipswich BMX track.

Royston started well with Alfie Salmon taking an excellent second-place finish in the under-six class A final ahead of Jack Todd who finished eighth, while in the B Final Charlie Todd finished fifth.

In the seven-year class A Final Royston took all the top three spots with Josh Peters coming home first ahead of Ben Clarke and James King, who finished second and third respectively. Marmaduke Birt finished sixth.

The eight-year class saw Ethan Vernon take a fine win overall, with Daniel Blanche finishing second. In the nine-year class Aaron Dalleywater took second spot in the final, while in the 10-year class Matthew Harris finished seventh.

In the 13 and 14-year class James Handleigh finished in fourth place, while in the 15 and 16-year class Wayne Gutteridge finished third. In the 30-39 cruiser class, Danny Ancell claimed fourth spot, while in the 13-15 cruiser class Danny Theedam also finished in fourth place.

Lee Alexander took first place in the masters class A Final, with Ben Clarke capping a fine day for the club by being awarded the Rider Of The Day trophy as Royston finished second overall - a few points behind winners Braintree.
